Fall Fun!!

As far as I am concerned, Fall is definitely the best time of year! Pumpkins, pretty leaves, cooler weather (others with naturally curly hair also appreciate this, I'm sure), and Judy's carmel apple pie!! Here are pictures of a few of our adventures. The boys at the pumpkin patch. Pumpkins are called "pump-eez" at our house.

Our front steps--nobody was cooperating!

I decided that since I am not working (and I don't know how long David is going to let that go on), that a trip to Michigan to visit the Berarducci's. So the boys and I jumped in the car and drove all day. It went better than I had thought so that was great. We stayed almost a week and got in plenty of shopping (good thing the boys aren't old enough to object yet), a visit to Anthony and Mia's school, an outing to Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, Anthony's soccer game, the pumpkin patch, and some family photos! All in all, a great time!

Batman times two--Happy Halloween!

Playing in the leaves, evidently it isn't as fun as I remembered it to be....

Update on the house--still creeping along on the house in Britt. Our most recent goal has been to be in there by Christmas, not sure that will happen. They are there drywalling as I type this, and hopefully the kitchen cabinets can start going in in a couple of weeks. Then flooring, which David thinks he is going to attempt himself. Not sure how that is going to go since he is hardly ever home. I told him we should get more people involved in that project so we could get it done in a weekend--any volunteers??

Make way for the Smiley Train!

The boys rode "The Smiley Train" on Monday. Kanawha held their annual town celebration and had a pretty nice parade. Cameron enjoyed picking up the candy, but he would chew the end of the wrapper instead of trying to take it off. All he got was tootsie rolls, which he didn't get to eat any of. You have to be pretty fast to get any of the chocolate candy before Grandpa Wayne gets it!!

Big Riggin'

The boys finally got to check out Dad's semi, and boy were they excited!! David had left the truck running as he was leaving soon, so Cameron was a little nervous when we first approached it. After getting in, they were both loving it! So many buttons and levers to touch and so little time! 10-4, good buddy!

So many shiny things!

Is this where you sleep all those night you are away, Dad?

Late June/July 2010

Happy August! The summer is flying by, once again. It's been awhile since I've updated the blog, so there are quite a few pictures of random events over the last month and a half...prepare yourselves.
Here is a picture of Cameron's handy work on Carson's arm. Carson likes to be a bully and push Cameron around and take things from him, this is usually the result when Cameron gets tired of it.

I don't remember where we were going in this picture, but the boys are enjoying their big boy seats that have finally made their way to our car. Oh, and Oscar is enjoying the car ride as usual.
On the 4th of July, we went to Humboldt for the parade and Brian, Monica, and Ben were there also. After the parade, the boys went straight to bed. Mom babysat for us while we met up with some great friends that we haven't seen in a very long time.

Here we are waiting for the parade to start.

Cameron visited the ER last month because he got his finger caught in the bathroom door at Grandma & Grandpa's house. He handled it well. It got some of his fingernail, and his finger is still black and blue under his nail. Please look past his dirty fingernails, I really do bathe them once in awhile!

We traveled to Okoboji for the day to see some friends that were there on vacation for the week. We went swimming and boating and just had fun catching up!

Another time when I wasn't looking (I swear I left them for only a minute!) they got into the jar of butt cream. Not good.....

Mom, the boys, and I had lunch at the Community Gardens in Clear Lake. It is a beautiful place, and it was a perfect day. I highly recommend walking through it if you are in the area and have a little bit of extra time. I had actually looked into having our wedding here, but was afraid of an outdoor wedding in October...

We have been working on trying new foods lately. So far, so good. It seems to depend on the day whether or not they will try. They seem to LOVE corn on the cob, and black berries and blue berries.

Last week, Amy, Anthony, and Mia came to visit. We had a great time with RAGBRAI in town, swimming at the aquatic center, and two trips to the fair! We miss them already!

Now we need to concentrate on the house so we can hopefully get ourselves moved in this Fall. We have completed demolition (or should I say David has),and the outside is done, now we just have to wait on people to get there and do their things!! Hopefully in a timely manner....but we all know how that goes.
